We respect your right to privacy and protect your data. Below we explain what information the app processes and why.
Consent to terms
By using GonguZen you agree to this privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Data collection
Personal data
GonguZen requires no sign-up, has no user accounts and collects no personal data.
Local data
Meditation stats, streaks, settings and completed session records are stored exclusively on your device (AsyncStorage). This data never leaves your phone.
Anonymous analytics and diagnostics
The app uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics for anonymous performance tracking and crash reporting. Processed data includes: anonymous device ID, phone model, OS version, timestamps and event types. None of this can be used to identify a specific person.
Feedback
If you submit written feedback from the in-app rating prompt, it is sent to our Firestore database along with your rating and submission time. We do not link these messages to any device identifier. We use the feedback solely to improve the app.
Apple Health
If you enable Apple Health writing in settings, completed meditations are saved as Mindful Minutes in your iPhone's Health database. GonguZen only writes - it never reads your health data. You can turn this off anytime in the app settings or system Apple Health settings.
Subscriptions and purchases
Premium purchases (monthly, yearly, lifetime) are processed by RevenueCat and App Store / Google Play. We only see an anonymous subscription status, not your payment details or identity.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete data processed by third parties (Firebase, Apple, Google). To exercise these rights, contact the email above.
Third-party services
The app uses the following services: Firebase (Google LLC), RevenueCat, Apple HealthKit (iOS), Apple App Store, Google Play. Each has its own privacy policy - we recommend reading them.
Policy changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will inform you of significant changes in the app or on this page.
